Jeff Brown missed last season's extravaganza, he got himself admitted to hospital just 24 hours before and had to miss out, but he was very much there last night and was MC throughout a very successful evening, even telling us about a new sponsor for this week's bike ride.
In some seasons the awards all seem to go to one player but this season a number of players were chosen both for the Player of the Year awards and the Goal of the Season awards, although there is no doubt that Chris McCann run away with the young player awards.
There was one very special award presented to Jim Thompson, a familiar face in the ticket office. Jim has given the club 59 years service and this was recognised with a special award from Boundary Clarets. Apparently getting Jim there to receive the award, something he knew nothing about, was not all that easy and a few white lies had to be told to persuade him.
A full list of the winners is shown below, but all the players were winners last night, they looked a bit down initially but soon relaxed and they posed for photographs, signed autographs and chatted with supporters, in particular making it a very special evening for some of the children who were there.
And we had icing on our cake with guest speaker Steve Kindon. The former Claret was in fine form as he entertained the audience, talking about his introduction into football, the FA Youth Cup winning team of 1968, his debut at West Ham and his appearance on television's Mastermind.
At the end of the evening the manager took to the stage. He paid tribute to his backroom staff, one by one, thanked the fans for their support during the season, and the supporters groups for the awards evening. He promised that he and the players would support it again next season and would help to make it even better night.
Below are a selection of photographs of the presentations followed by the list of award winners.
