It's the cup again and we're at Bamber Bridge

Bamber Bridge - hosting our FA Cup tie this weekend

Our cup run really has proved to be disastrous so far for our teams with all three of them losing at the first hurdle.

We started with Padiham in the Extra-Preliminary Round. They were drawn away to Staveley Miners Welfare. It looked a winnable game but it was the Derbyshire side who won easily by a 5-0 scoreline.

Two weeks later, we stayed with Staveley as they played Parkgate at home in the Preliminary Round, but a 3-1 defeat saw us with our third club who were then drawn at home, in Rotherham, to Warrington Town in the First Round Qualifying.

Keeping up the record, Parkgate said farewell to the competition as Warrington Town won 3-1 and now, in the Second Round Qualifying, they face an away game against Bamber Bridge.

This one is a tough one to call, and the sides met just two days ago with the game ending in a 1-1 draw at Bamber Bridge. There were 137 there to see the home side take the lead through Ashley Dunn on 15 minutes, a lead they held until 7 minutes into the second half when Gavin Salmon scored the equaliser.

Now they do it all again on Saturday with the winners being Clarets Mad's team in the next round. You wouldn't bet against Bamber Bridge with our record so far.
