Tom Bradley scored in Padiham's win against Glossop North End
Both sides started their league seasons last week and both got off to a successful start with home wins.

Staveley MW play in the Koolsport Northern Counties East League Division One, and they faced Grimsby Borough. After a goalless first half they soon found themselves 2-0 behind before coming back to win it in front of 65 spectators.

They couldn't, however, take that good start into their midweek game when they were beaten 2-1 at Thackley in the NCEL President's Cup.

For Padiham, it is one win and one draw so far. Playing in the Vodkat League Premier Division, they got underway at home to Glossop North End and ensured a good start to the season with a convincing 3-0 win with former Burnley youth player Tom Bradley scoring the second.

An attendance of 122 saw that win and last night they travelled to Bacup where a crowd of 98 saw Bacup go in front early in the second half with Padiham equalising four minutes later to earn a point in a 1-1 draw.

Now, Staveley MW and Padiham face each other in the extra-preliminary round of the FA Cup in the game chosen by Clarets Mad at the start of our journey to the final at Wembley in May.
