Spurs and Burnley battle to face Leicester

Last updated : 14 January 2015 By Tony Scholes

The first game, played at Turf Moor on Monday of last week, ended 1-1 with Sam Vokes coming on as a substitute and scoring our equaliser.

I won't be there tonight unfortunately. The ill health (a sort of man flu) that I've been struggling with since late December made the decision for me and this is the first Burnley FA Cup tie I've missed since real flu prevented me going to Middlesbrough in 1998 for that shock defeat against Darlington.

Jason Shackell could miss tonight's game

So it will be radio commentary for me tonight, whilst really wishing I was there as these two clubs go up against each other yet again.

I always cast my mind back to the two great sides of the 1960s and, today, Ron Henry, the Spurs left back, was being laid to rest after passing away on the 27th December. His full back partner Peter Baker was there along with wingers Terry Dyson and Cliff Jones and the best goalscorer I've ever seen Jimmy Greaves.

But tonight is about today's players and it looks very much as though Sean Dyche will go with as strong a side as possible. Jason Shackell has travelled with the squad but is a doubt with a recurrence of the injury he picked up at Newcastle.

He could play, but if not I wouldn't be surprised to see Michael Duff make a return to the starting eleven having been named as a substitute on Saturday. Dyche also hinted that Sam Vokes might have got a start last week had he not been hit with illness and that wouldn't be a surprise.

We could line up: Tom Heaton, Kieran Trippier, Michael Keane, Michael Duff, Ben Mee, George Boyd, Dean Marney, David Jones, Scott Arfield, Danny Ings, Sam Vokes. Subs from : Matt Gilks, Steven Reid, Danny Lafferty, Ross Wallace, Michael Kightly, Lukas Jutkiewicz, Marvin Sordell, Ashley Barnes.

Erik Lamela, who played so well in the league game there last month, is out with a calf injury while Ryan Mason will also miss the game with a hamstring injury. They are also without Nabil Bentaleb who is on international duty with Algeria.

Harry Kane, who seems to be scoring goal after goal just now, may be rested which could see Emmanuel Adebayor return to the side for the first time since early November.

Tottenham followed up last week's draw with a 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace, this having gone in front through a Kane goal. It was their first defeat in eight games.

Spurs lined up against Palace: Hugo Lloris, Kyle Walker, Federico Fazio, Jan Vertonghen, Danny Rose, Mousa Dembele, Benjamin Stambouli, Nacer Chadli, Christian Eriksen, Andros Townsend, Harry Kane. Subs: Michel Vorm, Ben Davies, Younes Kaboul, Aaron Lennon, Paulinho, Roberto Soldado, Etienne Capoue.
