Next Game – Franchise (home)

Last updated : 20 April 2004 By Tony Scholes

We need to stay up and we need the three points to help us do so. Staying up of course will also ensure that we will no longer be in the front line when it comes to fighting franchising in English football.

Their relegation is now confirmed, Sunderland had the wonderful privilege of hammering in the last nail and it will be the responsibility of 2nd Division clubs next season to boycott trips to play these pariahs.

It could have been better, football hoped that their creditors would not accept the CVA forcing them into liquidation but for now we have to accept relegation and the hope that there will never be an upward turn for them.

They have got what they wanted, the property development. What a pity this disgraceful move was never about football in the first place.

We always desperately wanted to win this fixture for pure football reasons, now it is massive for us and we need to win it because we are desperate for the points. Please let football triumph over this disgraceful outfit.
