Big all ticket night at Accy

Martin Paterson - misses out with a hamstring injury
How many will be there to watch tonight remains to be seen but the decision to make it all ticket does seem a strange one and given it was at such short notice there are likely to be large numbers turning up unaware.

Accrington, a new look Accrington without the familiar figure of Eric Whalley now at the non-playing Chester, have been unhappy at being listed as favourites for the drop out of the Football League in the betting, but as we know, the bookies are not always right.

Our hosts have made three signings to date over the summer. First in was midfielder Luke Joyce from Carlisle and he's been followed by Dean Winnard, a defender from Blackburn, and Shrewsbury forward Michael Symes who ended last season on loan with Stanley.

For the Burnley fans, who will dominate the crowd tonight, there will be the chance of a first look on English soil at our two most recent signings Brian Easton and Richard Eckersley.

Easton, known as Big Sheena who can belt out a good version of Do Wah Diddy Diddy, signed on the day we played at Morecambe but too late to play whilst Richard Eckersley signed on the dotted line a day later.

Owen Coyle is likely to make good use of his squad again which is: Brian Jensen, Diego Penny, Tyrone Mears, Richard Eckersley, Stephen Jordan, Christian Kalvenes, Brian Easton, Michael Duff, Clarke Carlisle, Steven Caldwell, David Edgar, Graham Alexander, Joey Gudjonsson, Remco van der Schaaf, Wade Elliott, Kevin McDonald, Chris McCann, Chris Eagles, Robbie Blake, Steven Fletcher, Steven Thompson, Jay Rodriguez.

One name missing from that list is Martin Paterson. He missed both games in America with a tight hamstring and isn't expected to feature until the League One Leeds game on Saturday.

The game kicks off tonight at 7:30 p.m.
