You have to live with it and get on with it

Coventry had suffered a run without a win but they had said they were going to win it for McAllister and that is exactly what they did as they recorded their first win at Turf Moor since our last season in the top flight, 1975/76, their only previous win at Burnley.

"It’s not been easy for a few days," said Black after the win. "The players responded magnificently though to beat a very good Burnley side.

"We had some outstanding defenders out there this afternoon and although Burnley did have a lot of pressure we certainly managed to restrict them in terms of shots at goal."

Stan admitted to being disappointed at the performance and again the way we gave goals away.

"It was very disappointing and the first goal was a very poor goal whilst the second one was probably even worse," he said after the game.

"For the first we didn’t defend a long throw and it has come out and gone through someone’s legs leaving Brian unsighted. But you have to live with it and get on with it. We’ll rally and come back to it.

"For some reason today we were reluctant to put the ball into their box. We started well but then went away from it and it wasn’t one of our better shows. It just didn’t go for us at times, we unfortunately came away with a defeat, it was just one of those days."

And on Arthur’s red card, "I don’t think there was any question on the two yellow cards, I don’t think we can have any complaints over that."
