When it all comes together it's a sight to behold

Wigan come into the game on the back of a home draw against Manchester City and Martinez said today: "We were all obviously very happy with the performance against Man City last week, and with the game being televised a lot of people saw Wigan Athletic properly for the first time, which is important for our image.

"On the other hand there was a little disappointment after playing so well and being so dominant not to come away with the win. It's important that we understand what we did well and where we need to improve, and take that into the next game against Burnley.

"We now want to find consistency in our results and in our performances, and I think we're in a position now where we should be able to do that.

"As we know they have an excellent home record this season, the best in the league, and the game is something to look forward to. Owen Coyle's team has carried on their momentum from last season and have a solid group of players, who give their team different dimensions.

"We know it'll be a tough environment and the biggest challenge for us will be to impose ourselves on the game and compete against a team with a high tempo and who make it difficult for the opposition to make a break through."

Owen Coyle has been telling his players to look forward to this game and not dwell too much on last Sunday. "There's no getting away from the disappointment of losing any game but when it's a game against your local rivals and everything that goes with it, it's a wee bit more than that," he said.

"But it's gone now and we have to focus on what's in front of us. We will have another chance in March to right that wrong, as they say, but the focus now is on the Wigan game and getting back at home with the wonderful support we have.

"We are looking to have a capacity stadium and as we know when the fans are at it and the players are at it and when it all comes together it's a sight to behold, and that's what we want again on Saturday."

Speaking about last week he admitted: "There were pleasing aspects and we have to make sure we bring all that on Saturday because Wigan are a very good side coming off the back of a good performance against Manchester City and in their previous home game beating Chelsea.

"But they have lost on their travels and we have to try and make sure they lose on their travels again, although to do that we will have to be at our best."
