His opposite number Kevin Blackwell though was happy enough, particularly with the performance of striker Rob Hulse who scored the winner.
“Rob hasn’t been able to train with us all week and he’s taken some whacks on the ankle but he put in a real big shift, culminating with the goal, and I am delighted with him,” Blackwell said after the game.
“He didn’t train all week, it has been difficult to get him fit and when he does get fit he tends to get a whack on it. When he went through on half time it was his ankle and we were thinking that was him finished. It is sod’s law, if you have an injury someone will find it.”
He wasn’t too impressed with Hulse’s striker partner Robbie Blake who got the opportunity to play with David Healy only considered fit enough to take a place on the bench. “He was below par,” admitted Blackwell after Robbie had turned in a diving boots performance.
