We won't have a problem understanding each other

Newly promoted Bristol City scored a late equaliser to earn a draw against West Brom on Tuesday but Gary Johnson is expecting a different sort of test from the Clarets. "Burnley play a different sort of way to West Brom. They are a very solid, strong Championship side who have lots of power.

"Burnley have started very well with just one defeat to their name. They also have a game in hand on us and the chance to leapfrog us with a win at Ashton Gate. They've been around the Championship for a little while. Steve Cotterill has done a good job picking up players in the transfer market making them dangerous opponents.

"He's done a very good job there after taking over when Burnley were struggling a little bit. They've been up and down over the years but I think this year they will feel they have the squad to challenge at the top.

"We really enjoyed the West Brom game and this should be another Championship game for us to look forward to."

Steve Cotterill believes starting games has been a major factor in our start to the season. "We've started games well, that's been the big thing," he said ahead of tomorrow's game. "We have passed the ball well and got into our stride really quickly.

"I always think it is important. If you start a game poorly it is hard to turn it around, but if you start a game well you invariably can get better. We're please with what we have done so far and had just one defeat in seven games so it has been a good start."

On our next opponents he said: "I'm pleased for them, they were just up the road from me when I was in charge at Cheltenham and they would have been one of the big clubs I would have wanted to manage. I have a good affinity with them, and we speak the same so we won't have a problem understanding each other at the weekend.

"Gary Johnson speaks for himself, I've known him since he was at Yeovil in non-league, and he's had the similar route that I've had coming up through the leagues. I'm pleased for him and looking forward to seeing him on Saturday.

"Bristol City are a big club, they always have been. Now they are up with us, there will be good crowds there."
