We need to keep going strong in every game

When the clubs faced each other at Turf Moor in October we were under caretaker boss Terry Pashley and Ian Holloway was still the man in the seat at Blackpool, although coming to the end of his time there.

The two new men are both looking forward to the game tomorrow, both looking to get the points that will edge them ever closer to safety in a season where their current points total would normally have seen them safe.

Former Blackburn boss Ince said today: "It's a good game for us to be fair. especially after last Saturday (a 1-1 draw at Forest). It's a game that everybody will be up for and we know the importance of the game.

"We can't get wrapped up with it being a derby game though, we've got to be more focused on trying to get the three points. I went to watch Blackburn play Burnley three weeks ago and everybody got wrapped up in the razzmatazz of it being a derby game and it was very bitty. We've got to forget about it being a derby game and treat is as another team that we need to get back to winning ways against.

"We know it's going to be a tough game but we're looking forward to it. We know we're playing well and we've shown that over the last four or five weeks. It's important that we continue that right until the end of the season."

He added: "Normally we'd be safe now in any other season but the good thing about teams winning below us is that teams above us are not winning so it's bringing them down into the equation.

"We can only take care of what we do and it's important that we go out there and get the wins that we need. If we do that, that's our job done and we don't need to worry about anyone else."

Burnley finally got that home win last week to ease any relegation worries but Dyche has said ahead of this game: "I've made it clear to the players that we want to go hard all the way in. We have spoken about it as staff and a group and we want to deliver performances and get wins.

"That includes getting as many points on the board as possible and finishing strongly. We want to build on what we are planning in the bigger picture. It's now just one defeat in seven and we  are still over earning wins, but that is a good mentality to have and we need to keep going strong in every game."

He continued: "There is a future in good performances. Of course you want wins and you want as many of them as you can, but behind that if the performances are not good and you eke out the wins, it will eventually catch you out.

"You have to bring the performance levels. That doesn't guarantee you a win, but if they are there consistently then you will win games because you are starting from a good base and heading in the right direction. My job is to see through the ups and downs and find out where that level is in order for us to progress.

"There are always challenges in front of you with injuries, suspensions and form and that's where all the things we are trying to do to build this football club, the training, the science, the analysis, all come together.

"You can only control the controllables, so we worry about what we can effect. I think we have had to earn everything we have got this season and that'd down to our resolve."
