We need to get our home form back on track

Saunders started the season at Wrexham before replacing Sean O'Driscoll at the Keepmoat and he's certainly confident today, suggesting only bad luck or poor refereeing can cost them the game.

Ahead of the game he said: "Burnley  are very organised and work hard. We've just got to match them. If we lose it will be because of bad luck or a refereeing decision and not a lack of application. When we went to Barnsley we gave a bad account of ourselves and that won't happen again.

"I'm not really bothered about anyone else, I only concentrate on us and getting our house in order otherwise anyone can beat us. We have given ourselves a chance though, because we look fitter, stronger and are able to battle..

"There's absolutely no point in getting the victories against Southampton and Leicester if we can't go away from home and earn a point and be hard to beat. Against Leicester, we stayed in the game and we got chances, because we challenged them. They stopped doing things right and, as a result; we kept knocking on the door pressing to grind them down."

Speaking about his players, he added: "Fortune going back to WBA has left us a bit short, but hopefully we can hit the ground running in January with the three new signings. All of these players have to buy in to what I'm doing, for it to work though.

"Anyone who plays for themselves is no good to us and that includes Diouf who has had other offers but is happy to stay. He sees how ambitious we are, and I am. He's a major part of what we're doing but will still have to knuckle down like everyone else."

Howe has seen his Burnley side win their last three away games and is now keen to see that sort of form at home, but he admitted it wouldn't be an easy game against a much improved Doncaster.

"They are a dangerous side," he said. "They have had an improved run of form and beaten Leicester and Southampton. Anyone who is capable of doing that deserves our full respect and our full attention.

"We say it all the time but there are no easy games in this league. Every game is incredibly difficult.

"Doncaster have some very good players, like Billy Sharp and Brian Stock who have been there and done it, and they have also added, with their unique way of purchasing players, some real experience to their squad and a lot of players who have played at a higher level."

"They have got an interesting mix now within their squad, so it will be difficult, but something we are very keen to do is improve our home form and make Turf Moor a very difficult place to visit for anyone who comes here.

"I would like to think we can go into the next two games as confident as at any stage we've been this season and hopefully that will reflect in our performance.

"We have to do the basics right, which we say all the time. We have to work hard, which is a basic fundamental, and I'm sure if we do all those things we have enough quality to win the game.

"They are on a good run of form but we need to get our home form back on track and hopefully this is a good starting point."
