We know it's a massive game on the calendar

One of their goalscorers Jonny Howson has spoken about that game and so has manager Grayson who said today: "We came out all guns blazing last season and got a result which was very sweet. I know quite a few Burnley fans and it was a good night to spend time with them.

"At half time and 2-0 down you're wondering if you can get back into the game, but in the second half we were outstanding and took the game to them. My half time team talk was very simple - just listen to the Leeds fans above us. There were 4,000 of them making so much noise and the players realised exactly what it meant to them."

Looking forward to this year's game he said: "There's a good bit of rivalry between the clubs and the Yorkshire-Lancashire rivalry too. The game's usually got an extra edge to it and this weekend will be no different.

"They're in a bit of a transitional period and that can lead to inconsistency, but we'll have problems if we're not at it like we were at Leicester. We don't want that to happen because we're in a good position and not far away from where we'd like to be."

Eddie Howe would be the first to admit that the Clarets aren't where he or anyone else would like us to be but he's hoping the presence of the television cameras will give the team a real lift, just as it did three weeks ago for the Blackpool game.

"I think for this game we just have to look back to the Blackpool game and how well we did in the first half there to show that this team is capable of some really good things," he said.

"We are hoping to match and mirror that performance if we can, when I thought from the off we were excellent. It's going to be a similar atmosphere I'm sure. It's on television and we know the importance of the game in terms of the supporters and everyone associated with the club and we are determined to do well."

He continued: "On the back of two defeats we want to start feeling good about ourselves again and there's no better place to start. We're ready for this game. We know the importance of it.

"We want to hit the ground running. We want a good start and we want to get the fans with us and create a really good atmosphere and put on a good performance for everybody.

"We know it's a massive game on the calendar with the rivalry which is there for everybody to see. We know it's an important one and we need to make sure we perform.

"Leeds are a good side. They are very well organised, very disciplined and hard to break down but we are confident with the attacking players we have got in the squad that we can cause any team problems.

"They are just like ourselves, and probably just like 20 teams in the league that we are in, who think they should be in the top six and that's the battle for everybody to try and get there."
