We have to eradicate the mistakes

Barnsley were 3-1 winners against Forest and Robins wants them to take that form into tonight's game at Turf Moor. He said: "It was a good performance and a good result at the weekend. I thought we passed the ball well in spells and we weathered a storm at times. I was really pleased and the three points were very welcome.

"It will give us a bit more confidence going into two tough matches away from home. We were a lot better at the weekend and we needed to be because Nottingham Forest are a really good side. It just underlines what we want to do and how we want to do it.

"We now want to take that on away from home. We have not won away from home yet but we have been close in a couple of matches.

"Burnley are a good side. They have only just come down from the Premier League and have been able to retain some quality players. They have sold well and added to their squad in the summer. With the parachute money and everything that came in last season I think they will be on a very sound footing for years to come.

"They will be a threat in this league this season and we know it will be a tough game. They have some very decent players and, in Chris Eagles, they have someone who is probably playing a level below where he should be. They have a lot of quality in their squad and on the bench.

"We just have to keep our heads down and keep working in the right way. There is no doubt about it, we have improved this season. I am pleased with the way things are going.

"We have not won back-to-back games this season and that is something I have stressed to the players today. Can we do that at Burnley?"

Brian Laws, like Mark Robins, hasn't seen his side win a league game on the road this season, but the manager is happy to be back home. "We are really enjoying this period at Turf Moor and so are the supporters," he said.

"Teams are fearful of coming here so we know we have to have something to play for. What better way to come and try and put right what went wrong on Saturday. And that's what the players will want to do because they were disappointed.

"If we want to progress in this division you don't throw away those kind of opportunities and let's hope if it comes again we don't do it.

"We are looking forward to tonight. That's the beauty of this. You can be disappointed one day and look forward to something else on another day and we are certainly looking forward to Barnsley."

He continued: "There were a lot of pluses to come out of Saturday, although we have to eradicate the mistakes. We know there were a few errors and we have to deal with that but we have to move on.

"We don't get over stressed when we win and we shouldn't get over stressed when we lose or get a draw and that's how we want to approach things. We have to move on and what better way to distract you from that disappointment than going into the next game and putting it right and getting a positive result.

"That's what we will be aiming for and this is a golden opportunity for us. If we can max out on these points in the next two games we might reflect on the Sheffield United game as a good point."

Speaking about our opponents, Laws said: "Barnsley have had a good start to the season. They will be buoyant and confident knowing that they have had a great win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, so we have to be aware of that.

"But we are at home and that's the biggest ingredient for us. We concentrate on what we are about and if we do things right you feel confident of winning any game. "
