We can only take it one game at a time

Riga got his first win on Tuesday when a late Dorian Dervite headed saw them to a 1-0 home win against Bournemouth. He's spoken about that game and his goalscorer.

He said: "As a coach you win and I'm happy, but at the moment the way is still long. I know when I arrive we have to work hard to find a solution together and finally we find that. I'm happy because we deserve that, but it is only one step."

On Dervite, he added: "He is a good reader of the game, he understands very well the game. He has also the first pass is not bad, he can play his balls right and left.

"Maybe sometimes Dorian is more introverted, he has to be more like the boss. He has the stature to do that."

Asked if he felt any relief at getting that first win, he added: "No, it's always nice. That's why we do this job. But the collective emotion is the best."

Sean Dyche goes to Charlton with potentially more than the one player, Danny Ings, unavailable, but it is not a worry for him. "It's a great opportunity for other people to affect what is going on, affect the team and affect the results," he said.

"No matter how those chances come along, whether through injury, suspension or a change of form, or tactics, it's designed for people to come and deliver."

New signing Chris Baird could get a start at right-back should Kieran Trippier not make it. "Kieran's got a mild hamstring injury which we're getting on top of now," Dyche explained. "It's touch and go whether he'll come through it, so we'll have to monitor that over the next few days.

"We have to be careful with those injuries though, as we do have a small squad. We want our big players playing, but we feel like we've got a number of good players who are willing to work hard and deliver good performances. It is what it is, but we look for the group to continue the good form that we're on."

Dyche added: "It's a different kind of challenge. To be honest though if you take out all the inference, the opinions and the noise it is just another game, so when the whistle blows you've got to deliver.

"All I know is that our players are going to be ready to deliver a performance because that's what we have done all season, and when we've done it well, we've got what we wanted, which is wins, of course.

"We've got another ten games to go. They're all important but we can only take it one game at a time, which has remained our focus all season and still will."
