We believe in being limitless and relentless

Birmingham boss Lee Clark saw his side lose to QPR on Saturday with two goals from Ravel Morrison who had previously enjoyed a loan spell with his club.

It was another disappointing result for Clark who has said: "I'm searching for solutions and I'm trying everything. I've had in-depth meetings before the game with DVDs. I've gone the opposite way where I've just named the team and let the players get on with it.

"I'm trying everything and I've got to say before the game I'm not sensing any tension. When I look the players in the eye I'm not seeing any fear or anything. It's just when they get out on the pitch and they get a little setback, what are their thoughts then?

"Are they thinking 'here we go again'? We've got to keep battling on and whichever team I pick, the lads have to be brave enough to accept the challenge and try and turn around our wretched run."

Clark added: "I think the players are looking forward to the game. They know it's going to be a tough challenge but a different one to QPR. The Burnley team epitomises what can be done if you've got every single player with a fantastic work ethic.

"In terms of their attitude, they've got an unbelievable attitude. I watched them against Blackburn and you always feel like they've got a chance of winning the game. Even when they are losing 1-0 they never give up no matter what stage the game is and whether or not they are playing their best. Their front two are also really good and a real handful."

Clarets' boss Sean Dyche, who had to come back out long after the final whistle at Ewood to acknowledge the mass of Burnley fans celebrating the win has described the win, his 50th as a manager, as a career best.

"It's my best individual moment, because it means so much," he said, but Dyche being Dyche that one is now over and done with and he moves on to the Birmingham game, confident that all his players will be well prepared and ready.

He said yesterday: "Mentally the players are in good shape. They're buoyant and full of confidence and I've also got great belief in the fitness levels of this group. They'll be ready to go hard at Birmingham and that's an important factor for us, the will and desire to keep going hard.

"We believe in being limitless and relentless. They're key phrases I use with the players on a weekly basis. Being relentless means that when the next one comes we're ready to go.

"We've shown great signs of that so far, but it is only so far. Beating Blackburn was a fantastic marker that will live with Burnley fans forever and certainly for the next considerable number of years. Beyond that, though, we have a professional job to do and that's to get on with the next one."

Asked again about him sticking with the same eleven players to start games, he quickly turned that round with praise for those not currently in that starting line up.

"We like to think the substitutes are important," he said. "They know we value the work they do greatly, because often they have to do extra work. The team that play on a Saturday might be able to slow down on a Monday, whereas the people that were on the subs bench have to work even harder.

"I made it clear to them that the design is for them to be ready, and I've been so delighted with the substitutes this season, not only the ones I've chosen but also those who don't get chosen sometimes.

"Our mentality has been part of it, protect and work with the group. We value it greatly, so that when they're called upon they're all ready."
