There is nothing to lose, everything to gain

Despite the injury concerns he's said there will be no additions to the squad. "There'll be no loans," he said. "These players have proved they are capable of winning, so let's get on with it."

He's looking for a reaction to their 4-1 reverse at Crystal Palace on Saturday and continued: "Like a boxer on the canvas, we have to get up and throw the next punch. We have to get back into it and I'm sure that these players will come back strongly.

"This group of players is fine. They are naturally disappointed, but are competitive by nature and have got going again in training."

He added: "Judge us at the end of the season. Now is a bit too early to be negative. I understand that we must recover, but I have a picture in my mind that we will be able to look at this run of results in isolation.

"We will be able to look back on four good months, six bad weeks, then another two good months. We will win an away game and that will kick start us."

Burnley will not want that kick start to come at Turf Moor and, despite picking up only one point from the last three games, we remain just seven points behind sixth place Middlesbrough.

"The challenge is quite obvious," manager Sean Dyche said. "We are around it. It really is time to go hard. With 15 games left, go hard in every one and that's what we are purveying to the players. There is nothing to lose, everything to gain and go for it.

"We believe in playing to win. We don't talk about drawing, and obviously not losing. It's about winning and how we are going to win and it's a great time for that.

"It's not that easy of course, because there is always someone there trying to stop you, but that's our intention, to go with freedom to play and get as many wins as we can."

Dyche added: "It's an exciting run of games for us and a really important run of games. The next one is Middlesbrough and we will be ready for it for sure.

"There is an element where if we beat them it is like a six-pointer, because you drag them back towards you, but the reality is you need to get points from anywhere. I'm not bothered where they come from.

"I will say, the obvious one with this one is because they are just that leap above us, can we drag them back in and keep ourselves right in the hunt in that pack?"
