The players are giving us the foundation to win games

Millwall go into the game having become the first team to come away from QPR's Loftus Road with a point this season and manager Kenny Jackett wants them to defend as well tomorrow as they did in that game on Tuesday.

"Chris Iwelumo, Chris Eagles, Wade Elliott and Jay Rodriguez are some very good attacking players, so we have to keep them quiet," Jackett said. "As well as that part we have to give their defence some problems as well because we are the home side and we will have to take the game to them.

"Burnley have scored a lot of goals and are a good footballing team. Coming out of the Premiership last season it looked like their aims and aspirations are to go back up.

"These are the type of games we want and we can't wait to pit ourselves against Burnley on Saturday."

The Burnley squad left at lunchtime today and before leaving manager Brian Laws said of his players: "I don't see the players getting carried away, but they are in confident mood. They know this division inside out and that is a real buzz for me because the lads are remaining level headed and fully focused.

"I'm delighted about that because it's vital that we finish this period off with a positive result. It's not going to be easy, but we have to go to Millwall with that mentality.

"We have been performing really well and the players are in a really positive frame of mind. If we can finish on a high before the break that will set us up perfectly for the next spell of games."

He continued: "Consistency gets your results. The players are giving us the foundation to win games and things are going in the right direction, but you always know there is a tough game right around the corner.

"Millwall is a notoriously tough place to go. They had a terrific season last time and they started like a house on fire, so they are used to winning games. Taking points from there is going to be a tough job, but we have to focus on our own game and believe in our ability.

"It would be lovely to get that first away win on the board, make no bones about it. If it doesn't happen it doesn't happen. The one thing I will say is we will win games because we are more than good enough and we should already have more points, especially away from home.

"There is more room for improvement, but we will got out and try to achieve it."
