The fans need to continue driving the team on

Forest recently dismissed manager Colin Calderwood and replaced him with Little Billy Davies. His side are hovering just above the drop zone but he said today: "No team in this league frightens me at all. Irrespective of league positions there is a very, very thin line between the top and the bottom and everybody is capable of beating everybody else.

"League position at this stage doesn't really bother me, what bothers me is us having the right approach and the right attitude going into each game. If we do that we are very capable of beating everyone home and away.

"It will be a tough match, Burnley are well organised and Owen Coyle and his staff have done well there. They are competitive and very experienced, they have spent a fair bit of money over the last year and a half and they have got a good spirit which I would expect from one of Owen's teams.

"But we are capable of going there and scoring goals and causing problems. We're also capable of shooting ourselves in the foot which we've seen over the last couple of months."

Owen Coyle is calling for more of the spirit that saw the Clarets come from two goals behind to win the game 4-2 against on Wednesday. "I have also prided myself on my teams being fit and you have to be to win games at this level.

"But more than that, you have to have the ability and mental strength to back that up, especially at this late stage of the season. I think we are showing all those qualities and it is vital that we continue to do that.

"We are certainly not resting on our laurels and we know we face another important game on Saturday where the fans can again play their part. I thought they were magnificent in midweek and I ask that they bring that level of support again.

"At this stage of the season we cannot underestimate the part they can play. They need to continue driving the team on because there will be ups and downs, that's guaranteed and that's why we love football. But the lads will always look to reward their support."

Coyle admitted that Jay Rodriguez is causing him a problem where team selection is concerned. He said: "Jay is doing terrifically well for himself but what you have to remember when lads come off the bench and score goals is how hard the others have worked before them.

"They have relentlessly tired the other team out, and the lads that come on for the duration should then be able to capitalise. What you do have to admire though is the quality of their finishing.

"Jay is a far better player now than we he came to this football club, but there is still scope for improvement. I am looking for him to tidy his game up and he knows that, but he is pushing for a starting place and that, for me, is a terrific problem to have."
