The dropped points are starting to build up

Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll saw his side get over a difficult start to go in front and then concede a second half goal before going home with their point. He admitted: "The performance was bitty I thought.

"This is a difficult place to come and at times we were excellent; at times we were poor. We need to make sure that when we are good, we capitalise on it and recognise the times when we need to stay organised and disciplined.

"The longer the game went on, the more the team came together and you rely on a little bit of luck. We had that luck in the first half, but again, there could have been goals galore, it was like a basketball game.

"Second half, we tightened up, but to tighten up we weren't as good going forward, even though we had a couple of chances. It became a case of could we hold out.

"I'm pleased with a point and any point in the Championship is good, especially against a team as strong as Burnley."

Burnley boss Brian Laws was frustrated after seeing us squander so many chances in the first half. "It has been a frustrating night," he said. "First half in particular we pummelled Doncaster and could have won three games, but they scored against the run of play when, on a better day, we could have had five.

"That made everyone nervous and I really can't believe Doncaster's time wasting. I've never seen that before. Is that a sign of their respect for us? It's generally not the way they play, but in the end they frustrated us and got a point.

"There's not a lot wrong though other than finishing teams off and if I was going to be critical of the lads we have to be more ruthless in front of goal. We won't get many games like this, where we have so many gilt edged chances to score and don't take them.

"In the second half it got a bit bitty and we started rushing things. Thankfully, we got the goal but couldn't finish it off at the end.

"We are all feeling it and you could hear the frustration at the end. The fans want us to brush aside teams in this division because we did it so well earlier in the season. Yet teams are going to come here and do what Doncaster did to try to get the crowd on our backs.

"If you look at it positively we have not been beaten, but there are too many draws and the dropped points are starting to build up.

"That is something that will eventually create a problem, but we have to be patient, keep playing football we have and eventually things will even out."
