The Championship can throw you up and throw you down

Coyle wants his players to take into the game the form and intent shown in Saturday's home win over near rivals Preston. "I would hope the players have taken a lot from the run we are on, given the level of the teams we've been playing against," he said.

"You could see why Preston have earned so many points, but I felt we carried the game to them from start to finish and once Joey scored his wonder goal, I felt there was only going to be one winner.

"But we've won a few games, and that's all we've done. The Championship can throw you up and throw you down as we all know. We just have to make sure we stay focused and hopefully the players stay in the form they're in and carry it on.

"When you go from game to game every game is tough, but we are playing well, there's a bit of continuity and long may that continue."

Looking at Watford he added: "They will be disappointed at losing to Sheffield United on Saturday, but there's no doubt Aidy Boothroyd is a top coach who knows the game inside out, and he'll be looking for his players to bounce back.

We have to make sure we're at our very best, stay focused and keep up the level of performance and work rate."
