Some players might as well have been sat next to me

He had said before hand that it was a massive win and he had to sit and watch it with the rest of us from the stand as he completed his four-match touchline ban.

"It was a big win for us," he said after the victory had been secured. "It is three points and it takes us to fifty points. We got a couple of goals and none against us.

"We need another win now and we have three matches, two at home and one away, to do it.

"I’m hoping to get Woody back along with Ian Moore and Dele Adebola although Tony Grant is going to be out for the season now.

"It was difficult for us because it was a must win game but nothing else would do and the players did extremely well. Some did very well but some players might as well have been sat next to me. But that’s how it is in a game like that.

"We are not in the clear yet but I’m hopeful we can get the points required and we have another massive game with Derby on Saturday now."

He ended by having a word for the supporters,

"There is a special word for the fans. I thought they were fantastic tonight because they have been as nervous as the players. They stuck by us from the start and it all turned out alright in the end."
