Let's take that fantastic performance into the next game

Neil Warnock joined QPR during last season and given recent QPR history can now surely be considered a long serving manager. He's made no bones about what his side need to do with a lack of goals recently.

"We need to get back into scoring goals. We've not scored goals for a few weeks now but there are one or two reasons for that," he said. "But we've had a full week and we've been able to concentrate on forward play and let the lads get used to hitting the back of the net and hopefully that will pay dividends."

Speaking about the Clarets, he obviously wasn't fully aware of the team we fielded in the Carling Cup tie at Villa Park when he said: "I don't think Burnley having extra time in midweek will have an effect. Only about three of those players will be playing against us, he rested everybody else. Clubs in the Championship are saying that getting promoted is far more important than the Carling Cup. The main players weren't involved.

"What we do know about Burnley is they have some very good players. Chris Eagles is on fire and Iwelumo I've tried to sign two or three times but never quite managed it. They will be a handful and we're all looking forward to it.

"We've got to be very positive and go out to enjoy it because we are enjoying the season and quite so. Saturday will be no different and Burnley will play football because I know Brian Laws."

Laws of course is fully aware that considerably more than three of our players who featured at Villa Park will be in the starting line up at Loftus Road and he admitted: "The all important thing is recovery. With extra time there are probably going to be some tired legs, so it is good that we have stayed in Birmingham for a couple of days, which will have benefited us.

"It won't worry the players and tiredness won't come into it tomorrow. We will be ready for the game and there's no question that we'll put in a performance at QPR. It's the biggest test so far because they are the league leaders.

"I have watched them and seen a few DVDs, so we know what they are about, but we have to concentrate on ourselves because I know what we are capable of and I think we have enough in our locker to hurt them.

"Let me tell you that immediately after the Villa game, the players were all saying the same thing - let's take that fantastic performance into the next game."

Laws continued: "There is no way we are changing our mentality, and I mean that. I am not going to go away from the things we believe in and we are not going to be negative tactically. We will be positive because, at the end of the day, it's not just about QPR. It's about us as well and they will be playing against a good side.

"We know what we are capable of and we have to make sure we perform to the best of our ability, knowing if we reach those heights we will give QPR the most difficult test they have had this year. We are as good a side as they are and on our day we can beat anybody."
