It's important to push on and try and win the game

In some ways the games on Saturday were similar. We both went in front but neither of us could get that second goal which would have surely ensured a win. For Coventry there wasn't even a point after Wolves came back, somewhat controversially to win it.

Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman has highlighted the inability to clinch the win ahead of tonight's game. ""We cause teams all sorts of problems but we can't get the ball in the back of the net," he said.

"In the 11 games we have played this season we have made a lot of chances. Away from home we have been playing very well but we are just not killing teams off. We can't sit here forever saying that we are playing well and creating chances, we have got to get the ball in the back of the net. End of story.

"We did it against Southampton where we scored four, that was great. But we could have had 10 with the number of chances we created. When you are one goal up and have a chance to make it two you have got to take it."

Owen Coyle will be hoping to get back to winning ways after picking up just one point from the last two games against Reading and Birmingham. "The players have that belief that we can win games," he said. "They believe in each other and trust their team mates, which is so important.

"It helps that they have that common goal, regardless of whether they go a goal down or get a setback, they can still go and win games.

"The players know the demands we place upon them, because I think it is so important the supporters, first and foremost, see that you are giving everything they can to win games. You won't always do it for one reason or another, but you have to be seen to be giving every ounce of effort. I think that should be a minimum.

"We have some fit lads and we work hard and rest at the right time so that they are fresh come the games, and I hope that's the case tonight because it is a big, big game for us. We want to get back on track and try to achieve three points, and we do that it will serve us well.

"We're certainly not there yet, it's a work in progress, but it's nice we're showing those levels and that desire. It's one thing to be fit, and added to that you must have a real hunger and desire. When games are tight, I think it's important to push on and try and win the game, rather than sitting back. That's never going to be our way."

Coyle spoke about the run of games again following the international break. "You know there's going to be a hectic period of games, and we'll prepare for it and give it our best shot. When you get right in the middle of it, the longer it goes you need to make sure the players are getting the proper rest and they're fresh and ready to be at their best.

"On Saturday I thought they gave everything to win the game, so we'll have a look at that and make sure they're as fresh as possible to go and win a real tough game at Coventry."
