It's a fantastic opportunity - we have nothing to lose

Whilst Burnley were only able to draw with Portsmouth on Monday, Leeds were losing at Crystal Palace and that's left us both trailing both Nottingham Forest and Millwall for that sixth place.

Both managers feel their sides can still make it when they spoke ahead of the game. "Anything is possible," said Leeds boss Simon Grayson. "We were down and deflated after the weekend, but you look at it, get back to it, and we still have a chance.

"We can't do anything about the results elsewhere, but we can win and put the pressure on the teams around us before their games. No one expects us to do it now which in a way means the pressure is off. It's certainly a different type of pressure because we're chasing and not there being chased.

"We'll go out there, look to win our game, and then see what happens. If we're still in it at 5pm on Saturday great. If not, we'll dust ourselves down and get on with things. We've had a great season, we're hugely disappointed with the last five or six games, but we still have an opportunity and we'll do our best to take it."

Grayson added: "Both sides will be trying to win the game. I would think a 0-0 draw is the most unlikely score of all, but that'll probably be the kiss of death now. We're both attacking sides with good players. Burnley have been going well, they've come up on the rails and you would expect a good, open game with both sides trying to win it."

It was almost a similar message from Eddie Howe, who said: "I think we are gradually whittling down the numbers. Hopefully we will still be in it come the last game. I think that's the aim, to keep it going until the Cardiff game and hopefully get a full house in here and see what can happen.

"When you come down to the one game scenario anything's possible so our aim going into the Leeds game is to keep the dream alive."

Just a couple of weeks ago we looked out of it and Howe, looking back at the poor run of results said: "During the bad spell of results we had, would I have taken it? Definitely. Ask me before the Portsmouth game would I have taken it and I would have said no.

"I thought we deserved to win that game and I was disappointed because I thought the lads performed very well and gave everything for the cause. We put 30 crosses into their box and had 20 shots at goal and on another day I think we would have won the game comfortably.

"But it's not over. I think we are very confident going to Leeds on the back of the performances lately. We look like we are creating chances and capable of scoring goals at any time so we will go there in good spirits.

"It's a fantastic opportunity. I think there will be a fantastic atmosphere, there's no doubt about that. Both sides going for the win; both sides needing the win. It's all set up to be a fantastic game and one we should enjoy. Really, we have nothing to lose. We are going to go there and try and win the game.

"It's a strange kick off time but I don't think it will dampen the atmosphere in any way and we can put pressure on the teams above us. That's what we will be looking to do. It can throw all sorts of things up in their minds, just before they go out to play so that's our aim."
