It is important we keep focused

Sannino, strangely, put it all down to the last ten minutes during which time Scott Arfield scored our equaliser. "This is football," he said. "You have to score the chances you have in front of goal.

"Once again the last ten minutes has cost us. If we had taken another one or two of our chances we could have a smile on our faces this evening.

"Considering the good side we were playing I was pleased with our performance. You could see how hard Burnley were battling for the equaliser and what it meant to them."

Dyche was counting players ahead of the game but at the final whistle the only counting he was doing was the increasing gap between us and the clubs below.

He saw his makeshift Burnley side come from behind to get that point and said: "Players are human and they know the challenges we faced today. We are missing some players who have played a big part in what we have achieved so far, but I thought the mentality was excellent again.

"We went down to a deflected goal, but we generally had a good feel about us today and good use of the ball.

"We were finding it hard to break down a very resolute side that had won five and drawn one of their last six games here. They are also a different animal than last year. Last year was all about free flowing attack and now it's about trying to defend in numbers.

"We had to be brave and I felt we kept probing and passing and overall I felt we deserved at least a point."

Speaking about that Arfield goal, he added: "There is usually a moment of quality that has a deciding factor and I was pleased with ours when it mattered. If I was hyper-critical we didn't get enough quality into their box, but a moment of quality from Scott earned us a deserved draw."

With both QPR and Derby suffering defeats at Bournemouth and Middlesbrough respectively, he said: "We can only take care of our own side of business, but it's fair to say that if others have their bad results, then of course it helps.

"But it is important we keep focused. There is still work to be done but there is good news around the corner because we have got players on the cusp of coming back, which can only help."
