It is all about us this weekend

Scunthorpe boss is looking forward to their first home game but said he was keeping his team to himself for now. When asked how they would be lining up he said: "That's for me to know, and Burnley to guess, but we've only got a small squad as everybody is aware.

"It was interesting how when Burnley played Grimsby on Tuesday they were able to change the whole team so it just shows the strength of the squad they've got. Robbie Blake's an excellent player, Andy Gray's an experienced target man up front. They've got great players in the middle of the park, and they've got great delivery.

"I can't wait though, I'm really looking forward to it. This game at Glanford Park, Scunthorpe United in the Championship at home to Burnley. What a great fixture. It will be a full house, claret and blue against claret and blue, everyone's going to sing 'Championship, having a laugh', enjoying every minute, and what a great day they've got in prospect.

"It's an historic occasion, be there, don't miss it. Be able to say: 'I was there at Glanford Park for the first game in the Championship.'"

Steve Cotterill is aware it is a big day for the home side but also realises that it is something that must not distract us. "This is no different to any other game," he said. "We are looking to go into the game and do well and build on our solid start to the season.

"This is Scunthorpe's first home game in this league and it is going to be difficult. We just hope we get enough of our supporters there, in numbers and vocal enough to help the lads.

"At the end of the day, Scunthorpe deserve an enormous amount of credit for where they have got to and the way the club has been run by Brian Laws and Nigel Adkins. I have known Nigel a couple of years and I spoke to him a couple of times in the summer and I'm pleased for him. But to be honest it is all about us this weekend and how we apply ourselves. That's all I'm interested in."
