I'm delighted with the response from going a goal down

Both teams went into the game having won the previous Saturday and Keane was very impressed with the way his players performed. "The players were brilliant," he said. "The effort and application they showed was outstanding.

"We've had three tough games this week, with a lot of travelling and with a young team so it was a fantastic effort against a team that will be up there at the end of the season. It was a pity we couldn't hold on for the win but I always felt if they were going to get something it was going to come from a set piece because they were physically bigger than us."

Keane also spoke of the save from Marton Fulop from Wade Elliott in the first half. "It was one of the best saves we've seen for a long time. It looked a goal all over but he did brilliant for us."

Brian Laws saw us come back with the late goal from Carlisle and said: "Teams do a lot of work on set plays, so it was a fantastic goal and about time too! It's been a year since we scored from a corner, which is ludicrous and has been embarrassing.

"It's not something we are proud of, so the fact we have got that monkey off our back means we can follow with many more this season. I'm delighted with that, but also with the response from going a goal down and down to ten men."

On the dismissal, he said: "It didn't help when David, one of our markers at set plays, was sent off. I am disappointed with the sending off because I don't really think he could do anything about it. Alright, he had been booked in the first half, but I felt the Ipswich lad ran into David. He played the game and David couldn't get out of the way.

"The response though was brilliant from the players, who refused to accept all was lost. We still put two players up front to try and get something from the game and thankfully we got it."
