I will never, ever have to question the desire

Barnsley boss Davey isn't too keen on playing again just two days after the game at Preston but admitted they have to be ready for it. "We will have to monitor the players very carefully and check on their fatigue levels before we decide what to do," Davey said.

"It is not about the result at Preston and we would not just drag them in for the sake of it. We have to see how they are and if we are carrying any injuries. We will come in on Monday morning and make sure we are ready for the game.

"Burnley have done well after a poor start. They lost their first game and dropped points early on which raised a few eyebrows but they have a winning mentality and beating Chelsea will only have increased that. I thought it was only us who could do that.

"They play good football and are a passing side. They have some creative players but we want to do better on Sky.

"Chris Eagles is a player who has matured since coming through the ranks at Manchester United, He has always had the technical ability but sometimes you have to learn a lot from playing real football in the Championship.

"We will have to make our players aware of him and what he is likely to do."

Meanwhile Owen Coyle is looking for a reaction following the draw with Doncaster. He said: "Every game is important in the Championship, regardless of win, lose or draw. What Saturday's draw does is keep us in the top six where I think, with the size of the club and the finances involved, we probably shouldn't be. But we are there on merit and it's important we get back to the levels we are capable of.

"I will never, ever have to question the desire, application and hunger, but we could have passed the ball better against Doncaster and we have to get back to that against a very good Barnsley side."

Speaking about team selection Coyle added: "There are big decisions to make every week in terms of team selection. It wasn't an easy decision to leave Michael Duff on the bench on Saturday because of how well he has been playing.

"The skipper Steven Caldwell was back available and he has been playing fantastically well this year, so there are big dilemmas.

"Again, it wasn't easy to leave Kevin McDonald out of the sixteen, but Alan Mahon scored a very important goal and we felt he merited that place. But you pick your teams and squads to the best of your ability and we will continue to do that."
