I totally understand the club I'm working for

Thorn's first game in charge of the Sky Blues was the 2-2 draw at Turf Moor in March earlier this year. He was appointed caretaker after the departure of football purist Aidy Boothroyd and impressed enough to be given the job on a full time basis.

Looking ahead to tomorrow's game, he said of the Clarets: "They are a decent side and they can do anything on any given day. We know what to expect from them but it is very important we get rolling now and keep up our performances.

"We need to turn in a good performance for the fans, who have been fantastic this season, and where we can't guarantee a result, we can guarantee the performance. If all the players on Saturday can guarantee that, then I'm sure the results will follow."

Having seen his side come to in the second half in the last two games, Thorn added: "It is important to start well but it is more important to keep that level of performance going for the whole match. We haven't started well in the last two matches, but having said that, we have got a positive result out of the game. That is football for you.

"We need to maintain a consistency in our performances, that includes during the match and if we can do that, we will be fine."

Eddie Howe is looking to turn round our fortunes after the two disappointing performances and results in the last week and he's more than ready to deal with the criticism that has come his way.

"That's the business we are in and I'm not naive enough to think that there isn't going to be negativity and criticism on the back of two defeats," he said.

"I totally understand the club I'm working for and the expectations at the club and of the supporters. That goes with the territory and I can take that.

"I want to produce a winning team and I want the supporters to go home happy every week. It's not an ideal world. It's a difficult job and it's a difficult game but that's the job I'm in and I relish the challenge.

"Criticism, our whatever you want to call it, doesn't faze me. It's part of the job. I've been there before. The first two games at Bournemouth we lost and I was getting slaughtered.

"That's the game and makes you even more determined to come back and say 'I desperately want to make a success of this job' and I am going to do everything in my power to make sure we come back a better team."

He added: "You stick to your beliefs. What you believe in is so important. You don't veer from that and you have to have strong faith in what you are doing is right. I've seen it work before and I know it will work again."
