I thought it was very quiet

Coventry boss Peter Reid thought it was all down to sloppy defending and felt that with the two goals scored his side should have gone on to win the game.

“When you go away from home and score two goals you expect to take all three point,” Reid said after the game.

“Their first equaliser was disappointing because we had time to clear our lines. We gave them time to play and you can’t do that with a player like Robbie Blake around.

“He’s a great player and you have got to stay on your feet and not jump in and unfortunately we didn’t do that.

“We are having a bit of a problem keeping clean sheets at the moment and it is something we’ll have to work on.”

Commenting on his side’s inability to get good balls into our box he added, “Barrett’s goal was probably the one time all night when we got a good ball into the box. We just didn’t produce enough quality in the box tonight.

“We got in the areas again but the standard of ball was poor in general and it has to improve.”

Steve Cotterill was quick to praise his side’s ability to fight back and said, “I suppose it was well earned after coming back from behind. We showed good character in the match to do that and I thought we did a few things we aren’t renowned for.

“I thought it was very quiet, a bit too quiet, and it didn’t look like anything would happen but when they scored it came to life.”

Looking back at the first half he said, “We could have killed the game off if we had taken our chances and there were a few good saves from their goalkeeper. I also thought we should have had another penalty in the second half when there was a definite hand ball.”

Commenting on the penalty he added, “Robbie didn’t give anything away for his penalty, because there was a shot from the sidelines about where he was going to put it but he didn’t give the keeper a glimpse and kept his head down in the run up.”

And finally on the second equaliser he concluded, “It was nice for Graham to score because we’ve been talking to him about scoring more goals. It’s good for him and it’s good for his confidence because he isn’t always the most confident of players.”
