I could have probably walked in naked

Blues' boss Steve Bruce saw his side beat Coventry 3-0 last weekend at St Andrew's and is looking for more of the same, but is aware that they can slip up against the Clarets as they have done in other games. "When you look at the points we have lost against teams in the bottom end of the table, we seem to have kept our best performances for the bigger games," Bruce said.

"Every game at this stage of the season is a big game, whether they are towards the top or the bottom there is never an easy match. I went to Burnley on Tuesday and every time I go and watch somebody they play like Real Madrid. They were right bang at it, they obviously hadn't won for a long time and it will give them a bit of confidence.

"When you look at their team with the big boy Gray, little McVeigh who they've got on loan from Norwich, Djemba-Djmeba in the middle of the park, and with O'Connor, and big Caldwell at the back. They have got a sprinkling down the nucleus of the team, they aren't bad.

"I know they were saying up there that they were never as bad as not winning a game for 19 matches, so that's out of the road for them, but as always at this stage of the season it is how you play. And we've got the support of a full house.

"If we play like we did last week then we'll beat most teams comprehensively. We put in one of our all round best performances of the season at just the right time. Certainly the players are looking forward to it and the spirit amongst them is fantastic. It is looking now as though it is two from three for promotion and we've got a great chance."

Burnley boss Steve Cotterill has had a watching brief on Birmingham this week after finally seeing his side grab a win. "Since Tuesday I've sat down and watched two of Birmingham's games. You've got to be on to the next game, so Birmingham, coupled with Cardiff, has taken up my thoughts.

"Having said that, it was good to walk into the dressing room the other night. Normally you walk in and the players are waiting for you to say something, but I could have probably walked in naked after Plymouth and I don't think they would have known I was there. I was just listening to them all talking, and buzzing and it was great to see that.

"Probably we'll never endure anything like that again, probably in our careers. I certainly wouldn't want to go through it again, but we might come out the other end stronger."

Looking forward to tomorrow he said. "I get on very well with Steve Bruce who has done a great job at Birmingham. He's probably one of the nicest guys you will come across in the game. He's excellent at his job, and I for one hope Birmingham are one of the teams that go up, but not at our expense.

"It is going to be a tough game for us, but if we can produce as many glimpses of what we produced the other night we can go there and score and get a result."
