I believe in what we are trying to do

O'Driscoll took over after a short period during the summer as Crawley manager where he didn't even preside over a game. He took over following the Kuwaiti takeover from Steve Cotterill to whom he'd been assistant in the second half of last season.

His Forest team is looking to get a win after losing their last two games and he said ahead of this fixture: “We’re under a little bit more pressure, we’ve got to deal with that because that’s part and parcel of playing for Nottingham Forest.

“But we try to keep everything on an even keel no matter what the results are, and nothing has changed this week in that regard. I know supporters will always judge a team by results. I’m not going to change that and I’m certainly not going to throw my dummy out of the pram. We want what they want, it’s just how we get there that is my focus.”

He added: “I went to Blackburn last Sunday to watch Burnley and they are very accomplished. They understand the strengths of their team and play to them. They effectively play with one striker but that’s what they do.

“They’ve got the guy who is the top scorer in the division in Charlie Austin and know that if they get the ball to him in certain areas he will deliver.”

Dyche will be hoping to build on the results of the previous week when we won one and drew two in a space of eight days. Looking forward to a City Ground return, he said: "It’s a nice place to go to. I have always enjoyed going back there.

“It was a nearly sort of journey for me. I nearly made the first team but not quite and ended up going off to Chesterfield and starting on pastures new, but it’s a great club and I was there through a great era. There were very many good players and obviously Woany went on and had ten years there and was a big figure there.

“They are very good memories for me at a club that helped start me on the pathway to having a career in football. It was a good time which, on reflection, gave me some good values to instil into myself.”

Of today's Forest, he added: “They have got a big squad and have added to that to again this year with a new influx of money. They are another what you would consider a force to be reckoned with, but I have mentioned many times I believe in what we’ve got, the players we’ve got and I believe in what we are trying to do.

“The signs have been really positive and never more so than a really dominant performance last weekend against Blackburn.  There is still more to come. There are still demands put on them on a daily basis but the culture we set is beginning to become more of a natural thing for them.”

Looking back to the Blackburn game, and the part played by substitutes Junior Stanislas and Sam Vokes in the late equaliser, he concluded: “We want that effect from the bench and I thought the three of them were excellent last Sunday at having an impact in a game which could have run out of steam, but didn’t because they went on and gave us a lift. That’s exactly what you want from your squad and your substitutes.”
