He is an absolute pleasure to watch

Coventry boss Chris Coleman spoke briefly whilst ensuring all his players have recovered from the food poisoning that left them with a weakened side for their cup tie at Blackburn.

Of the Clarets he said: "They are quite an aggressive team and play at a high tempo. They have got threats offensively and Robbie Blake springs to mind from the wide areas, and Paterson makes good runs in behind, so they will make it very difficult for us."

Robbie Blake; Chris Coleman isn't the only manager to have spoken about him ahead of this game. Owen Coyle has simply been enthusing about him. "The quality of the goal Robbie scored at Coventry was top drawer and Chris Eagles scored a wonder goal too," Coyle said.

"There were two very attack minded teams that night at the Ricoh and tonight will be no different. Robbie showed, as he has done all season for me, the quality he's got and I thought on Saturday again he was outstanding.

"That's what he needs to keep bringing to the game because when we are all fit we do have real competition for players and that's the way it's looking just now.

"Robbie would be the first to admit he probably wasn't playing to the level he had been previously. He had been in the team at the start of the season but hadn't got to the levels he is capable of.

"There is no bigger admirer in football of Robbie than myself and he knows that. I tell him on a daily basis and when he is on form he is an absolute pleasure to watch. He is the type of player I would love to watch and he knows my feelings on it, but it is up to Robbie to keep delivering that.

"He is in terrific shape in terms of his physical fitness and he's added that work rate as well and does his bit for the whole team. We know we have got terrific footballers who are pleasing on the eye, but what we need is the hard work that they have to do for the team to earn the right for all those gifted players to pass and move the ball.

"Robbie has been an outstanding player all his career, but I think what happens when you get older he penny drops. You think 'I have got the ability and I want to maximise it and make the most of it, I don't want things to pass me by'.

"Sometimes you change your game and adjust accordingly, but if Robbie keeps on performing to the level he has there is no doubt he'll carry on playing for years to come. He is as quick as anyone over 10/15 yards and has got that change of pace.

"When Robbie stops and starts people, moving them from one foot to the other, there are very few people who can stand up and defend that. He has shown that against Premier League teams this year who are loaded with pace.

"Robbie is quick upstairs in the head, but equally he is very sharp on the pitch and I'm delighted with what he is giving us."

Looking forward to the game Coyle said: "It's been a tough test for us but we know what we have to strive for. If we get to those levels, then the points and results will follow on the back of it.

"We have to make the Coventry game our biggest game of the season now because it's the most recent result that counts. We need to try and get the three points as difficult as it will be.

"You have to keep striving to win those games and come May when the positions are handed out that will be the judgement. If we win a large percentage of our remaining games then we will be in a position worthy of our season's efforts."
