He has to pay £75 for it

Walsall boss Colin Lee had said prior to the game that he felt Burnley would come at them and admitted that he would be looking to catch us on the break. It didn’t go just to plan for him though.

"We’ve got to be mentally tougher and withstand the pressure," said Lee. "In the second half they pushed on to us and boxed us in the way we wanted to do to them. We just couldn’t get out and stop the waves of attacks. But away from home you are going to come up against teams in your face and you have to deal with that.

"We have to value possession more and play our own game. Our passing wasn’t good enough. We had too many swipes at the ball or put it in the stand instead of passing it properly.

"We played some terrific counter-attack football in the first half and could have had three or four goals," he said. "But we need to find a way of making us more resilient at the back without affecting out forward play."

After three matches on the road Stan had said he was happy to be back playing on the Turf and was certainly happy at the end with another three points won.

"We played extremely well and created a lot of opportunities," Stan said at the end. "Apart from twenty minutes after their goal we were deserved winners.

"The first goal was well worked, we hit the woodwork three times and the game could have been over after just fifteen minutes. But we gave them a soft goal back and the lads were frustrated at half time.

"They came out though in the second half and did just about everything right after that."

He was delighted too for his loan player Delroy Facey who finally got off the mark with his first goals for the club, grabbing all three. "It was fantastic to see him get a hat trick. The second when it came was a fantastic goal with a lovely free kick from Robbie and Del getting across the line so well.

"He’s been working so hard and has missed one or two but he has had the courage to keep getting in there and he played particularly well.

"He’s pretty happy now as well and he’s got everyone to sign the ball for him. I don’t think he’ll be so happy though when he has to pay £75 for it."

And finally he spoke about Andy Todd who had just played his last game for us before returning to rivals Blackburn Rovers. "Andy Todd was enormous for us, he was sensational and I am disappointed that he has to go back to Blackburn."
