We've all got four

Rob Turner - got his season off to a good start with two goals in the youth team win
The win at Accrington last night was the biggest win in the opening fixtures of the Pontin’s Holiday League Division One West although League Two club Wrexham also recorded a three goal win, beating Rochdale 3-0 at Dark Lane the home of Rossendale United.

The only other winners in week one were Shrewsbury who recorded a 2-1 win against Bury, this one played at the amazingly named Inn2gether Stadium, home of Radcliffe Borough.

We could, and should have been the first leaders in the Youth Alliance League North West Conference after two goals each from Rob Turner and Marc Pugh gave us a 4-0 lead against Chester.

Somehow we contrived to concede three goals in the closing period of the game and with Oldham, Tranmere and Shrewsbury all having bigger wins than us it means we sit in fourth place after the first matches.

This week’s results:

Pontin’s Holiday League

Burnley 4 Carlisle 1
Bury 1 Shrewsbury 2
Chester 1 Blackpool 1
Preston 1 Tranmere 1
Rochdale 0 Wrexham 3

Youth Alliance League

Preston 1 Wigan 0
Shrewsbury 3 Blackpool 1
