Ntumba Massanka had a shot blocked on the line

The first goal came on 13 minutes when Henry Cameron raced on to a through ball, took it round goalkeeper Callum Jakovlevs and slotted it into the empty net.

And just before the half hour the scoring was complete through George Lomax who netted with what his club described as a stunning strike.

Blackpool coach Richie Kyle felt his side had gone in front without playing well but he was delighted with their football in the first twenty minutes of the second half, their best period of the game.

But Burnley came back strongly towards the end of the game. Christian Hill hit a shot just wide from the edge of the box and on 80 minutes came our best chance but they just about kept out a strike from Ntumba Massanka with a block on the line.

That's six league and cup games without a win for the young Clarets whose last victory came on 9th November when Evan Galvin, Nathan Lowe, Waqas Azam and Brad Jackson all scored in a 4-0 win against Preston.

The squad on Saturday included three under-16s who will be hoping to win scholarships with the club next season. The three are Hamam El-Fitouri from Manchester, Josh Dolling from Liverpool who was previously with Manchester United, and Shaun Hobson who is also from Manchester.

The team was; Callum Jakovlevs, Hamam El-Fitouri, Callum Richardson, Alex Whitmore, Charlie Holt, Nathan Lowe, Brandon Wilson, Christian Hill, Evan Galvin (Josh Dolling 58), Brad Jackson (Lewis Nuttall 71), Ntumba Massanka. Subs not used: Conor Mitchell, Shaun Hobson, Luke Daly.
