If Wrexham have beaten Accrington, as expected, this morning, the defeat leaves us nine points behind them with a better goal difference. This was Wrexham's last game and so we will now need to pick up a minimum of nine points from our remaining four games to take the title.

A win at Macclesfield would have put us in the driving seat but a disappointing first half saw us go in level at 0-0 in a game played at Moss Rose.

Things got worse after Macc took the lead early in the second half and it was a lead they held on to to take all three points.

We now have two home games and two away games left. The home games come first against Shrewsbury and Oldham and they are followed by away games at Oldham and Preston.

The first of these games, against Shrewsbury, will be played this coming Monday afternoon at Gawthorpe, kick off 2:00 p.m.
