Postponements mean little change in Alliance

Carlisle were next to bottom and had won just once all season, but they travelled to Blackpool and beat the home side who had threatened to walk away with this league just a few weeks ago.

The 2-0 win meant Blackpool stayed third, just a point above us and now having played one game more and for Carlisle, they strengthened their position even further with another win yesterday afternoon at Accrington.

Our game was called off on Saturday morning with neither club bothering to alert anyone thus supporters turning up at Preston's training ground to watch the match. Ours wasn't the only game called off, league leaders Port Vale saw their home game against Walsall postponed.

Apart from Carlisle's wins at Blackpool and Accrington the other two games played also brought wins for the away teams, Shrewsbury at Stockport and Wrexham at Tranmere.

Burnley will hopefully get back to action this weekend with a home game against Macclesfield.
