In form youth team to face Port Vale at Padiham

Last updated : 07 November 2014 By Tony Scholes

We go into the game in fourth place but just one point below the three teams above us who are Rochdale, Walsall and Bury. We've been on a good run since September ended with a defeat at Walsall, winning five out of five and scoring 16 goals including two 4-1 wins in the last two weeks.

Our visitors Port Vale are currently in 11th place with 13 points from 11 games, but they arrive having probably had the big shock result of last week, beating high flying Oldham 4-1 at home.

We played them just once last season and that was a home game at the end of March. On that occasion we won 3-2 with goals from the pictured Ntumba Massanka (2) and Brandon Wilson.

Speaking ahead of the game, coach Terry Pashley said of his squad: "They are a young group and it's so hard to get consistency out of youngsters week in week out to the high standard we want.

"They are at a good level at the moment but we are never satisfied and we are always looking to improve."

Kick off tomorrow at Padiham is 11 a.m.
