Both won 4-0 with Oldham picking up their win at home to Carlisle and Tranmere, also at home against Stockport, and in a weekend of goals there were four also for Wrexham who defeated Shrewsbury 4-1.

The season had kicked off on Friday afternoon with the 2010/11 champions Rochdale in action against the holders of last season's wooden spoon Accrington Stanley. 'Dale were clear favourites for this game but it ended in a 1-1 draw.

Blackpool and Preston had the strangest of seasons last time round. Up to October Blackpool looked to be sailing away with the league whilst Preston couldn't buy a win. Then it looked as though they'd swapped players as Preston went on an unbelievably good run whilst Blackpool collapsed and, after winning nine of their first ten games then collected only one point from the remaining 14 games.

The two met again on Saturday and it was Blackpool again showing the early season form with a 2-1 win against their local rivals in a game played at Blackpool's Squires Gate training centre.

Port Vale were the other winners whilst three of the clubs - Bury, Macclesfield and Walsall are still to play.

Burnley are at home this coming Saturday against Accrington Stanley. The full fixture list for the coming week is shown below following last weekend's results.
