A quiet time in the reserve league

The game between Oldham and Shrewsbury, at Stalybridge Celtic, was set to be played last night but was brought forward eight days. A home win would have seen Oldham go joint second with Preston, but they suffered a third defeat of the season with Lewis Neal scoring the only goal of the game for Shrewsbury from the penalty spot.

Accrington's game against Wrexham has been moved to 8th December, the Bury v Tranmere game was called off because of Tranmere's FA Youth Cup involvement and it was the same at Macclesfield with the home team also having a Youth Cup game.

The only change in the league table is Shrewsbury's climb from next to bottom. They've moved up two places ahead of Morecambe and Tranmere. Burnley remain four points clear of Preston at the top (and with a game in hand) and a further three points ahead of Oldham, Wrexham and Macclesfield.

We'll get a chance to extend that lead next week with our re-arranged game against Morecambe the only scheduled fixture. This game will be played next Wednesday evening at Kendal Town's Lakeland Radio Stadium.
