We've not got Robbie Blake

Robbie Blake
Robbie admitted that he might have to move on from Burnley and said just before the end of last season that all he wanted was to play regularly. He was assured by manager Brian Laws that would be the case in the Championship.

He was offered a new deal, eventually a one year deal with an option for a second year provided he played in twenty games or more. Robbie confirmed that he wanted a two year deal and this was now the only stumbling block.

The stumbling block remained although Laws said the offer would remain open, but Robbie won't be coming back to discuss it after it was confirmed that he is now a Bolton player.

He's signed a one year deal with them and will now hope to play regular football again in the Premier League.

Bolton's 12-goal legend, now managing the club said: "We are delighted to have signed such an experienced footballer in Robbie Blake. He has proven Premier League ability and adds to our striking options. He is a bubbly character who will be a great lad to have in the dressing room.

"I worked with him for two fantastic years and I am pleased to link up with him again because I know a number of clubs were interested in securing his signature."

For many Burnley fans, they can rightly say Robbie is the best player they've seen in a Claret and Blue shirt. In two spells, he's spent six years at Turf Moor and whilst there is no doubt we have had the best of him there is a real tinge of sadness that he's gone.

He's provided us with some wonderful moments, some fantastic goals and some brilliant performances. His last goal at Turf Moor proved to be our Premier League opener against Manchester United, not a bad one to go out on.

I can't wish him well given where he's gone - but thanks Robbie for what you've given us. It's been a real delight.
