Ward played the full 90 minutes for the Republic of Ireland in their 3-0 defeat to Belgium in Group E at the Stade de Bordeaux.

A couple of goals from Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and an Axel Witsel header in the second-half consigned the Republic of Ireland to their first defeat in the tournament.

Martin O’Neill’s men will now have to beat Italy in their final group game on Wednesday 22nd June at Stade Pierre Mauroy, Lille Métropole to reach the last 16.

Come on Wardy! (TEC).
