Unsworth gets first coaching role

It looks to be the sort of role he was offered by Burnley over a year ago, a role he turned down at the time because he wanted to continue playing.

That position at Burnley has now been filled by John Henry, but for Unsie he will be responsible for the first year professionals at Deepdale. That could also including taking charge of their reserve team.

He revealed on leaving Huddersfield that he was looking for a coaching position and there were suggestions he could return to Turf Moor but he's gone to Deepdale, a club he was with as a young player before joining Everton and whose manager Alan Irvine he's worked with at Goodison Park.
