There are expected to be more sub plots going on at the home of Southampton on Sunday than could appear in an Agatha Christie novel.

Former Clarets' striker and Burnley lad made good Jay Rodriguez, is all set for an emotional return against his former home team. Rodriguez has been constantly plagued with injuries since he departed Turf Moor.

The England international is currently injury free and is now available for selection and is all set to appear against Sean Dyche's Clarets.

For the Clarets, it is hoped that Burnley's England goalkeeper Tom Heaton will have recovered from a minor calf injury, sustained in training whilst away with Gareth Southgate's World Cup qualifying squad.

to add alittle bit more spice, there will undoubtedly be more scouts at St. Mary's on Sunday than are present at a Lord Baden-Powell remembrance service.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal are amongst a possee of clubs all interested in acquiring the services of the Burnley centre back Michael Keane.

Bids in excess of £25 million are already being muted. The big question for Sean Dyche in January will surely be to "stick or twist" with Michael Keane.

Keane was recently called up by Gareth Southgate to join the full England set-up. Although he has still to make his full England debut, the inclusion has beefed up interest in Keane enormously.

Judging by the inept performances of Gary Cahill and John Stones at the heart of the Three Lions defence last night in Slovenia, it can only be a matter of time before Keane is given the opportunity to begin his international career.

It is too early yet to evaluate and predict Sean Dyche's starting eleven for Sunday against the Saints.

The returning Heaton, Keane, Defour, Ward, Hendrick, Gudmundsson, Vokes, and Arfield have all to be assessed for any knocks or injuries sustained whilst away on international call ups.

The nominated referee for the game is the not ever far away from controversy Mike Dean. All in all, the stage is set for an early fireworks display on a late Sunday afternoon in Hampshire. (TEC).
