Turf Moor debut for referee Webb

I can only hope that he turns in a better performance than he did that day, but more importantly I can only hope that Burnley turn in a better performance than on that day when we were simply awful as Coventry beat us 1-0.

Webb turned it into a difficult afternoon for himself and certainly failed to impress, and I remain convinced we should have had a penalty in the second half, although I suspect the way we were playing we'd probably have missed it.

This is Webb's third season in the Football League and seems to be increasing his card counts season by season. This season, in 27 games, he's given out 87 yellow cards and 5 red cards.

Of those yellow cards, 53 have gone the way of home players and 44 to away players. He sent off three players in the Bradford City v Oxford game in mid-October and then, in January he dismissed Hull's Liam Rosenior in a 1-0 home defeat against Leicester.

His other red card came in his last match on Tuesday of last week, Accrington's 3-1 home win against Southend. Andrew Proctor and Luke Joyce were the Accrington players yellow carded, along with Ryan Hall, Moshni Bilel and Luke Prosser of Southend. Bilel then received a second yellow card in the 84th minute which led to Accrington's third goal from the penalty spot.

Tomorrow the assistant referees are Barry Gordon (County Durham) and Ken Haycock (West Yorkshire). The fourth official is Andrew Scregg (Liverpool).
