Three goals to choose from for Goal of the Month

Last updated : 11 December 2013 By Tony Scholes

November wasn't our best month of the season. We played four games and won none of them as we slumped, as some would suggest, from first to third in the table.

We scored five goals in total in the four games but one was a Shane Lowry own goal in the draw at Millwall and our goal at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest came from a Sam Vokes penalty.

It was Vokes who got the first goal in November. We'd just gone 2-0 down at the Den against Millwall, the second goal coming via a deflection off Vokes, on the 2nd of the month but within 47 seconds we'd pulled a goal back.

Ings and Trippier combined down the right and Trippier's cross was helped on by a defender to Vokes to head home from close range with a more difficult opportunity than it looked at first. It helped us to a draw with the second half goal to take us into the home game against Bournemouth.

This was the game that Sean Dyche reckoned we dominated more than any other but with not too long to go we were staring down the barrel of a first home defeat of the season. Then, with six minutes to go, Ings struck against his former club and manager.

Junior Stanislas did really well. Having taken a corner that was headed clear he covered some ground to get back onto the ball and play it into the box. Jason Shackell headed it back for Ings who beat Lee Camp to the ball and secured us another point.

Then came the penalty at the City Ground and in the last game of the month at Huddersfield it was Ings again who scored with six minutes remaining. This time it counted for nothing in a 2-1 defeat but it was a good finish as he latched on to a ball played through by strike partner Vokes and slotted it past the home goalkeeper.

You can vote from the poll which is available on the front page of the site or on the VOTING POLLS page and it will run until the end of Friday.

The winning goal will be guaranteed entry in the Goal of the Season vote in May next year.
