Three Clarets to have the Time of their Lives

Last updated : 21 September 2009 By Tony Scholes
Earlier this year Sky introduced a programme on Monday evenings entitled Time of our Lives. Jeff Stelling introduces the programme and each week has three guests who had all played for the same club during a successful era.

It started with Chris Lawler, Ian St John and Ron Yeats of Liverpool discussing Shankly's team of the 1960s and last week the three guests were Andy Gray, Graeme Sharp and Kevin Sheedy, all members of the Everton team that won both domestic and European honours in the 1980s.

But tonight Stelling, who we all know has a soft spot for Burnley, will be joined by three guests discussing our Championship success of 1959/60. The guests, all internationals, are John Connelly, Alex Elder and Jimmy McIlroy.

Recently I was privileged to be in Jimmy Mac's company for over an hour and it was a real privilege listening to some of his stories from his time as a Burnley player. Listening to the three of them tonight on this programme will be a real treat for me and I should think many other Clarets, particularly those of a certain age.

It's on Sky Sports 1 tonight at 10:00 p.m. - don't miss it when Burnley really did have the time of their lives.
