After a totally blank week for First Division transfers last week there have been a number of signings this week including some high profile loan deals.

Aaron Lescott - Carlton Palmer's first signing
Leading the way on spending money is Kevin Keegan who has paid Belgian club Charleroi £1.5 million for 23 year old midfielder Christian Negouai. Keegan describes the deal as the most exciting signing he has made yet. He is certainly building up a big and expensive squad and is really going to have to win one of the promotion places to justify the outlay.

Rotherham have spent another £125,000 to complete the signing of Martin McIntosh from Hibs. McIntosh has been at Millmoor on loan and manager Ronnie Moore has been more than keen to make the deal permanent.

One other money deal to report and it is Carlton Palmer’s first signing for Stockport, spending £75,000 on Sheffield Wednesday Aaron Lescott. He has been in and out of the side at Hillsborough this season, playing nine games.

Another player to complete a move after a loan deal is Andy Tod who finally joined Bradford City from Dunfermline whilst Wimbledon this week signed IFK Gothenburg midfielder Hakan Mild.

Nottingham Forest’s Christian Edwards has joined Crystal Palace on loan and Leicester defender Damien Delaney has gone to Stockport on loan whilst two players have moved from Middlesbrough to Birmingham in loan deals. They are Steve Vickers and Curtis Fleming. Vickers was on loan at Palace and manager Steve Bruce wanted to sign him permanently. I just wonder why he has now joined Birmingham. By the way does anyone know where Steve Bruce is?
